CROSS

·         People come for the way of the Cross
·         Why? – This is a mystery – people feel the absence of God
·         It is not the absence of God but the absence of our thought God.
·         Hid and seek game is played
·         Devil is also child of God – Job 1:1ff
·         Absence of God is a mystery, yet he works without our knowing
·         God is clouded – we cannot see him
·         Cross – Red Cross – Mystery – sign of saving
·         Emptiness – precondition of fullness.
o   My God, why have thou forsaken me ?Mt 27:46
o   Mt 23:34 – Father forgive them – forgiveness comes from one who experiences God
o   Lk 23:42 – You will be with me in paradise – on the cross still he shows sympathy to others
o   Lk 23:46 – Father into your hands I commend my spirit – anger, denial, depression, acceptance, surrender
o   Jn    - Mother of all the disciples and christians
·         Right brain – feeling and emotion
·         Left brain – intellect and reasoning.  He combines them both
o   I thirst Jn 19:28 – For what? – for the poor, sinners, marginalized, not accomplished.
o   It is finished – accomplished – mission is accomplished.


RESURRECTION

·         Transformation of life
·         It is a transhistorical event – his cannot comprehend
·         Empty tomb is not a proof of resurrection
·         Folded cloak – experiences
·         Resurrection = Full presence of God

·         153 symbolizes the whole universe
·         Faith = assurance of and conviction of things not seen
